I love this whole series, and this one came out just in time for Christmas! I love Ivy and Shelly and their guys, Bennett and Mitch and the whole family! And the way she described the Seabreeze Inn I can almost see it on the pages! This is a touching story about a woman who was betrayed by her dead husband and is almost bankrupt when she takes on his retirement project. You have to start with the first book in the series. I think this is book 4. But Ivy perseveres in starting her inn, keeping the huge beautiful home she has inherited, and all the mishaps and mysteries she has to solve along the way. Not only with the home, but with her daughters, her old boyfriend, her cantankerous neighbor, and her younger sister, who has her own stories to tell. This book takes place at Christmas time when it becomes apparent that the summer beach crowd is now gone, so how will the inn keep bringing the money she needs. Creativity comes to the rescue! True enjoyable reading. I admit to reading all four books in this series. All of them. In fairness, something kept me coming back for more even though it wasn't character or plot development at all. A large chunk of this book (and each one) was rehashing the previous book, and repeating the same storyline as the first one. The writing is very light, and you know you aren't getting a literary masterpiece from the get-go, but something made me care enough about Ivy and Bennett to keep reading and buying! A head's up: too many woo-hoos, Seabreeze cocktail drinks (can't they enjoy something else?), and the never-ending ability to pull priceless artifacts out of every hidden crevice known to man in the house that plays the centerpiece. I hear there's a fifth book coming out next year...guessing more seabreeze cocktails will be mixed.
